The Great Escape

Hello, my name is Jennifer. My goal in life is to be a well-traveled, attractive, red wine drinking Professor of Anthropology by the age of forty. In order to achieve this goal, I took one large baby step across the ocean – I just moved to Budapest, Hungary to teach English through the Central European Teaching Program. From here on out you can call me Miss Jennifer. Until last August, I had never been out of the United States. One can say that I love cultures: at my university, I majored in Anthropology and minored in International Studies. I am also a “first generation American” on my mother’s side – she is from the Philippines. Although I love languages as well, I am not particularly skilled at learning new ones. Good thing Hungarian is said to be one of the hardest languages to learn. Traveling is in my blood. After several years in despair, I have finally freed myself from the confines of my surroundings. Through this blog I will share the details of my great escape.
