Interest: Five Homes in Ten Years: How to Move Without Wanting to Kill Your Spou
About me: I'm an expat trailing spouse from Wales, who has spent the last 10 years turning relocation disasters into a worldwide traveling circus. Currently living in San Francisco, I've spent the last ten years routing through London, Nairobi, and Los Angeles, complete with 2 kids, 3 dogs and 2 cats. I have only once been upgraded on a flight. Current goals include making it into Virgin First Class, learning HTML and locating a perfect Lemon Drop Martini.
A complete tech novice, I started developing the Defining Moves website in response to never receiving the help and information I wanted when relocating, and hearing the same story from hundreds of other expat souses. The site inadvertently launched when I posted an unflattering picture of my son on Facebook, which linked back to the site. The next morning, I had 36 pageviews, 18 comments, a very irate son and an active website.. the rest, as they say, is history.

The Secret to Expat Success.. And Why.
I knew it. Finally, the insanity that is my expat life – and most of the website – has been vindicated, and it?s all thanks to Ellen Mahoney over at Sea Change Mentoring. She introduced me to the groundbreaking advice given by a tech start-up entrepreneur, [...]... Fri, 30 Aug 2013 16:55:10
(Often Ignored) Expat Essentials ? Writing a Will.
Yes, I know. You don’t want to think about it, much less talk about it, which is why I have been getting shifty looks from most of my expat network this week when I asked them the seemingly simple question: “Do you have a will?’ Want to know how many people said “Yes”?... Tue, 09 Jul 2013 18:14:54
Expat Realities. Where there?s a Will, there?s a.. spanner set?? You know your will is in urgent need of updating when: It’s typed on a real typewriter. The paperclips holding it together are rusty. Your youngest child isn?t even mentioned.
