Lornas life in Spain

When I left my home town of Brighton, I decided to set up a blog, so family and friends could keep up with our new lives here in Spain. My blog posts can be about trips home to visit the family, and seeing my beautiful grandgirlies, to the premature birth of a baby alpaca on our farm. I try and be as honest as I can, and sometimes bear my soul. My blog is very special to me and I feel it very enjoyable plus also therapeutic to write. It would be great if more people were able to see it, and hopefully enjoy it!

  • About me: Hi, I'm Lorna, I used to live near Brighton in the south of England, where I was a dance teacher for many years. I have 2 children, Mark and Frankie, sadly who are both still in Brighton, who each have a beautiful daughter, so I am a very proud nanny! My partner Alan and I moved to a very small town in Spain, called Montoro, 4 years ago, which the locals call a city, not far from the stunning city of Cordoba, in the Cordoba Province. Montoro is a beautiful traditional town, with houses clinging to the side of the rocks on the banks of the River Guadalquivir. Alan and I live in an old olive mill which we have restored, along with 8 alpacas, 5 dogs, 4 cats and 6 chickens. We live in a very rural area surrounded by olive trees, it's beautiful. Recently I felt the need to earn some extra money and also needed to dance again, so I have been teaching zumba in the town, which I am enjoying immensely , plus helping my Spanish! With live off grid here, and have our electricity from solar and water from a spring!
