  • About me: I am a university professor, translator and freelance writer in Mexico. I was born in Michigan but grew up in Toronto and other places in the Midwest, finally graduating from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. Since then I have lived in Seoul, Vancouver and now Mexico. I’ve traveled to about 40 countries on five continents. Now I go south, especially to the Yucatan, Chiapas, Oaxaca and Guatemala. And when I’m not traveling, I’m playing guitar or riding my mountain bike. My writing has appeared in The News (Mexico City), International Living, Transitions Abroad, The New World Review, Expat Focus and ESL-Lounge, and I write a blog about Mexico and Central America called No Hay Bronca.
