This is the story of our adventure. In 2009 we moved from Texas to Germany. This blog is way to chronicle our experiences living abroad (and keep me out of trouble). It's about the things we love--traveling, raising kids, crafting, drinking beer and trying to make sense of it all. With tons of pics and some honest travel tips.
About me: I used to have a career. Now I deal with shit on a much more literal level; I’m a stay-at-home mom. I love art, architecture, design. I drink a beer most days of the week. I do Insanity; my “recovery formula” usually involves chocolate. Love to eat, don’t love to cook. Suck at most things domestic.
I come from Texas. I wasn't born there, but as the t-shirt says, I got there as quick as I could.

A glimpse of Morocco
Marrakesh is a confounding place. Pick a superlative; they all work. It’s both extremes, simultaneously. A crazy, beautiful, chaotic, fascinating place. To me, Marrakesh is this picture.

100? Art Challenge: 10 euro oil paintings
Three new pieces of art for only 10? each! I found these at a nearby Dutch thrift shop—one of my favorites for buying art. They usually have some great pieces, and art is one of the few things they have that’s not ridiculously overpriced.
These three are oil on canvas, larg... Sun, 03 Mar 2013 11:59:17
Shrove Tuesday Carnaval in Binche, Belgium
Carnaval in Binche, Belgium is a really different experience. I’ve wanted to go since seeing pictures of these guys—the Gilles. Imagine 1000 of them in those creepy masks…
The masks are wax and, according to the tourist office web site, worn on Shrove Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. Eigh... Sun, 24 Feb 2013 19:04:51
