• About me: I left the UK just after the Brexit vote with a view to starting a new life in France with my partner and two young children. We're about to buy land and build a house and are also working on our own businesses. Our children are in the school system (both at maternelle), and I've managed to get us set up with healthcare, social security numbers, driving licences and all the other administrative stuff with only very limited French. When we arrived I could barely ask for a coffee. Now I can "chat" with my neighbours. It's a journey. In between all the admin, the language learning, the work, the running around to school, etc. we try to get outdoors and enjoy the wonderful countryside around us. It's full on - but I wouldn't got back to the UK for all the money in the world.
